Teacher Placements In connection with the education department of Hebei, Ming Chuan Consultancy Services finds placements for foreign teachers within Chinese education institutions in the city of Shi Jia Zhuang. The main demand is for English teachers at Universities and High Schools. However, there are a wide variety of universities within Shi Jia Zhuang, specializing in different disciplines. Therefore, people who have a professional background (such as engineering, medicine, dentistry, business, accountancy, etc) are highly sought after.
As a foreign organization working in China, we understand the issues that are involved in cross cultural exchanges and therefore seek to minimize the stresses that our teachers face. Hence, we not only find placements for teachers, but seek to take care of them during the time that they are with us. We will arrange for a welcome and pick up at the airport, transport to the school or university, negotiation of contracts and negotiation for satisfactory working and living conditions. We will also act as intermediaries between the teachers and the Chinese education institution should any problems arise. We will even help buy mobile phones and bikes, find Chinese tutors if wanted and help with travel arrangements in and around China. Overall, our aim is to make sure that each person’s experience of China is a positive one, an experience that will see them come again and recommend us to their friends and colleagues.
Cultural Exchange Programs As an extension of the teacher placement program, Ming Chuan Consultancy Services also arranges for groups of undergraduate foreign students to come and teach English for one semester at a school or university in the city of Shi Jia Zhuang. Students would have to be native English speakers and would preferably be studying a major related to education, and ideally would be trainee teachers who are in their final year of study. Students who join the program would receive a salary and accommodation for the semester that they teach, although the level of the salary and other benefits would be dependent on the particular school or university.
The cultural exchange program is not just about teaching, but also includes; an orientation program upon arrival, trips to cultural and heritage sites, Chinese language study (Mandarin), fortnightly meetings with Ming Chuan expatriate and local staff with videos and discussion groups related to Chinese culture and other issues facing the students at the time, fun trips just to get away and of course, lots of Chinese food (and maybe a Pizza or two)! |
